That’s why we have developed a software platform that helps global brands like Emirates, Mercedes-Benz, Achmea, Goodyear, Booking, and many more, better manage their corporate communication workflows and share their (brand) stories with the world. As a fast-growing company, we are looking for a Senior Front-end Developer who will bring our front-end functionalities to the next level.
We have an open mindset and challenge ourselves to constantly change for the better. We are in the transition from startup to scale-up and together we are putting more structure and processes in place to get to the next level. We're currently at around 30 employees split between Amsterdam and Chicago, and growing.
What will you be doing?
As Front-end Developer, you have a keen interest in user interface and user experience design (UI/UX). You have a visual way of thinking and know how to translate ideas into code that works in a practical way. You care about structure and transparency. You are eager to learn, improve your skills and help our platform evolve. You will be part of the Platform Development Team, where you:
Collaborate with our Product Department team to get the best results;
Participate in team discussions and planning sessions;
Introduce and maintain best practices, structure, and quality in code projects;
Propose improvements to the platform based on your experiences with customers;
Work closely with Full Stack and Backend Developers to create modern web applications;
Help your colleagues and offer guidance where needed.
You have over 5+ years of relevant work experience as a Front-end Developer;
Design is important to you; you see where you can and should apply patterns;
You have a strong interest in exploring new technologies and techniques;
You are an analytical, abstract thinker and can transfer your thoughts well;
You prefer practical solutions to problems;
You possess communication skills; Independent and a team player;
You understand cross-browser development and responsive layouts;
You follow best practices and keep yourself up-to-date with current knowledge about your field and the tools that you use;
A good understanding of principles and standards such as SOLID, KISS, DRY;
You find sharing knowledge and helping others important;
You are fluent in English.
What about your skills?
Vue.js and State management (e.g. Vuex)
Writing code that interacts with REST APIs
Creating automated test cases such as unit tests and e2e tests
Familiar with data and serialization formats such as JSON, JSON-LD, Hydra, CSV, etc.
Modern style sheet languages such as CSS3, Sass, Less, etc.
Nice to haves:
Experience with Material Design standards;
Experience with Docker, Vagrant, and related virtualization tools;
Experience with GitHub Actions, Bamboo, CircleCI, and other CI/CD tools;
Experience with a variety of front end frameworks, libraries, and middleware
Familiarity with Component, Foundation, and Adapter implementations
Affinity with PR and communications;
An interest in Open Source software development;
Familiarity with Scrum and Agile.
